Today I attended an informational session on the program that I am hopefully going to be a part of for 6 weeks. I will be living in a small village outside of Cape Town working with the youth there with a focus on the arts. I’ll be teaching classes on painting and creating murals with pre-schoolers and youth. Also, I will be working on an organic farm and learning about eco-sustainability. I am so unbelievably excited. Ever since I took a class on the Economics of Food, I’ve known that my future lies in economic sustainability. On the side we will be having guest lecturers from local artists. We will be learning about both the visual arts and performing arts. Also, I’ll get to have one on one time with one of the most famous urban sustainability program directors in South Africa. AH!
