This morning Tom and I rolled out of bed, walked to a nearby coffee shop, sat in big comfy chairs with coffee and did a crossword puzzle together. I’m really happy.

What I have been up to:
After spending a month in Morocco, I returned back to Boston a little more appreciative of living in a developed country, drained from writing so many papers, and feeling the need to fill my extreme cravings for salads, drip coffee, and toilets that flush.
I had originally planned to take summer II classes but after being 4 days late on sending in my last 15 page paper for my Morocco trip, I was...

Have fun in the snow
I’ll be in Florida in 85 degree weather!
During my Japan to Washington DC flight I sat next to this 24 year old guy that was perfect in every way. He works as an urban development planner, spent a month working in Indonesia and then half a month backpacking in Nepal. Next month he’s heading to Ecuador for another project. After college he spent some time teaching English in various countries and back packing through Nepal. When I...
The only things I purchased in Taiwan
a dress, some weird pants, earrings, and 30 packs of hi-chew.
Holy diabetes.
Today I started to miss someone that isn’t family or one of my best friends. Then I realized that I guess that’s what happens when you fancy someone. weird.

Lately,
I may think Valentine’s Day is a bit overrated, but I had a really nice Valentine’s Day. I will be going to Taiwan in ten days. Sadly, I will not be going to Florida with three lovely ladies. Also, I will not be going to NYC with my best friend. I signed up for a marathon in Vermont for May 15. I am now 21.

eating homemade vegan rice crispy treats, sitting in my bed, putting on netflix, and thinking about how much I don’t want to go out on a Saturday night. I’m officially an old woman.
And talking to my best friend via ichat.
So I’m a technologically capable 80 year old woman.
1,500 miles
My goal for 2011 is to run 1,500 miles. Since January 1st, I have run 62 miles, that means I have 1,438 more to go. I need the sidewalks to be shoveled so I can start running double digits again without bumping into people, tripping on ice chunks, and slipping on ice.
As I'm sitting on my couch
watching Food Network, thinking about starting my homework, eating homemade corn bread, and roasting cinnamon sugar chickpeas, I’ve come to realize I should really get myself off my couch and go to yoga or at least start my homework, or maybe simply put some pants on.
I’m going to go with none of the above and instead, keep watching Food Network, maybe bake some cookies, and keep...
2010, see ya.
Kayla, Warren, and I on New Year’s Eve in Providence.
1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
Paid rent and ran a marathon.
2. Did you keep your New Year’s Resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I think the only resolution I made was to have a better year than 2009, and I can’t really decide if that happened. I made 12 this year.
3. Did anyone...

this is awful.

I’ve come to the decision I have to cancel my trip to Africa. I have to lose the $500 deposit. I have to give up everything. There is no way I can live in this house anymore and therefore I need to find a job so that I can get an apartment and never come back. I’m sending in the papers tomorrow and looking for places to apply. I’ve never felt this awful about anything but...
Today
has been a much needed day to myself. Currently making myself roasted veggies for dinner and making up for the months I’ve paid for Netflix but didn’t have the time to use my account.
Earlier, I went running, went to the gym, did some yoga, walked to the bookstore, read a lot, and went to the grocery store so I could buy mint chocolate candy canes. Productive.
This weekend I managed to:
Crash into a metal cart while running, causing a severely large bruise on my ankle. Convince all of my coworkers to compete in the Saltine challenge. Eat way too much hot sauce. Tumble down some stairs in 4 inch heels causing bruises on both knees and bruises on the outside of both of my ankles. Consume matzo ball soup. Watch an abandoned baby be not so abandoned. Get followed by a pregnant, loud...

I love Thanksgiving
It’s the only day in the year that my parent’s restaurant is closed, it’s the only 24 hours out of the year that my mom, dad, Warren, Rocky and I will be in the house at the same time. It’s the best food, best company, and best holiday ever. Living in Boston makes me love home so much more. I can’t wait to do Black Friday, watch Harry Potter again, go to South Street...

Cape Town, South Africa
Today I attended an informational session on the program that I am hopefully going to be a part of for 6 weeks. I will be living in a small village outside of Cape Town working with the youth there with a focus on the arts. I’ll be teaching classes on painting and creating murals with pre-schoolers and youth. Also, I will be working on an organic farm and learning about eco-sustainability. I...
Winter
The cold weather always makes me wish that I had a significant other. For now, I’ll settle with cups of hot tea and freshly baked ginger molasses cookies. I may just start planting myself in coffee shops so maybe I’ll meet someone interesting.

Happy Halloween!
So far I’ve been a lady bug, a breakfast plate, and I don’t know what I’m going to be tonight.
I wish I was trick or treating.
Tomorrow marks the start of winter marathon training!
I may not be able to
sign up for another marathon or half marathon any time soon without having to hop on a plan and fly south, but I refuse to let that stop me from doing weirdly long runs.
Next goal: Running from Boston to Westborough
Sunday - Marathon Day at 8am in Newport, RI. If all goes well I’ll be done at 11:40, since that’s not really that reasonable, I’ll be done around noon.
Today- consumed so many carbs in preparation. I wouldn’t mind never consuming another bowl of cereal, pasta, english muffin, or bagel ever again. (just kidding, half my diet consists of cereal)
Currently: Chugging...
Today I bought tickets to the Where’s the Band Tour. I’m so excited.
Note to self:
Step 1: Find boyfriend
Step 2: Cuddle
Step 3: Wake up
Step 4: Make him red velvet pancakes
Since this won’t occur anytime soon, Kayla Colpitts, I need you in my apartment so I can make you red velvet pancakes.

I believe
in Paula Deen, butter, cupcakes, and baking. Luckily for my waistline, I prefer oatmeal over flour and pumpkin over butter. Also lucky for me, I just made oatmeal pumpkin chocolate chip coconut cookies, now that’s a mouthful (that’s what she said?).
I keep staring at this email that I’ve drafted up to send to multiple charities in hopes of fundraising to run the Boston Marathon. Am I really about to sign up for another marathon before I’ve even run my first one? Yup.
